Come to your appointment with your braids or extensions in their current state — no need to do anything beforehand. Avoid trying to remove anything yourself, as this can cause unnecessary breakage. If your braids have products or heavy buildup, that's completely fine. We handle it all.

Timing varies based on the service, length of your hair, the number of braids, and the condition of your hair. We always provide estimated time ranges during booking and we never rush — your hair health is worth the proper time. Plan for anywhere from 45 minutes (tape-ins) to 4–5 hours (full braid takedown with detangle treatment).

Absolutely. Our takedown services are suitable for all textures and curl patterns. We have experience with 3A through 4C hair types and all braid styles. Our technique adapts to your specific hair needs — we take special care with finer strands and tightly coiled textures.

Yes — that's exactly what we're here for. When you leave Untwine Atelier, your hair will be detangled, moisturized, and in an ideal condition to be washed and immediately styled by your next appointment. You can go from our chair directly to your stylist.

Yes! After your takedown, we'll share personalized recommendations for how to care for your natural hair in the hours leading up to your next styling appointment. We may suggest a specific moisturizer, deep conditioner, or protective care routine based on what we observed during your service.

We've seen it all and we never judge. If your braids have been in for an extended period or your hair is severely matted, please let us know during booking so we can allocate appropriate time. We'll work patiently and carefully, prioritizing the health of your hair above speed.
